Now in construction documents, this development boasts the complete transformation of the circa 1937 'Sunburst Center', renovations of the 'Bauhaus' and 100 new townhomes. Sunburst and Bauhaus were formally part of the NYIT Campus. With NYIT moving its focus elsewhere this site became available for development. The old classroom portions will be lofty apartments and the old dormitories will be opened up into larger apartment units. This is a model development for adaptive re-use of underutilized but historic structures.
